Fred L. Goldsberry is a 1968 Honors graduate of Texas A&M University in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to earn MSME (1969) and Ph.D. (1971) Degrees from Texas A&M, and earned a MBA in 1992 from the University of St. Thomas. He was elected to the Academy of Distinguished Graduates in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M in 1996.

Dr. Goldsberry has worked in the E&P, chemical processing, electric generation, rocket motor, geothermal, and nuclear industries. The bulk of his career has been spent in the Oil & Gas drilling and development business. Since 1979, Dr. Goldsberry has been employed successively as director of the USDOE Geopressure Projects Office in Houston, and then as Vice President of Operations for Zapata Exploration Company. Dr. Goldsberry formed WAVEX®, Inc. in 1995.

Dr. Goldsberry holds eleven U.S. Patents in smart control systems, energy conversion systems, geopressured secondary oil recovery, nuclear waste storage, and transient well testing. United States Patent No. 6,041,017, Method for Producing Images of Reservoir Boundaries, was issued on March 21, 2000. Canadian and European Community Patents have been issued as well.

Dr. Goldsberry is a member of ASME, Chair of the SPE Emerging and Peripheral Technologies Committee 2002, and is active in the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers.
